Call me a skeptic, but this has to be the most outlandish prediction for IPTV subscriber growth to date: Alcatel says there will be 100 million IPTV subscribers by 2010. The magic year is popping up in nearly every analyst report as the benchmark year for a mature IPTV market; however, 100 million is a bit hard to swallow. Most estimate that there are only 2 million or 3 million current IPTV subscribers worldwide. 98 million more in three years?
