Altice USA opens up Xfinity Store-like ‘Experience Center’ in New York

Taking a page out of Comcast’s playbook with its Xfinity Stores, Altice USA has announced its first two “Experience Center” retail locations.

Designing its stores as a showroom for new technology, including the new home gateway solution Altice One, Altice has already opened its first outlet in the Garden State Plaza mall in Paramus, New Jersey. A second Experience Center will soon open in the Westfield South Shore mall in East Shore, Long Island.

The 3,695-square-foot location in Paramus features interactive product demos of not only Altice One but also home-automation features enabled with the cable operator’s newly announced relationship with Nest.

There are also demos of high-speed internet applications and a 15-foot TV wall to show off video features. There’s space set aside for third-party devices, such as Samsung TVs and tablets, as well as a children’s area for gaming and other video entertainment.

For its part, Comcast has been slowly deploying its own Xfinity Stores across the U.S. for the last several years, all in an effort to change the perception of its technology in the mind of the consumer.

“With our Experience Centers, we are changing the way we interact with our customers and the way they interact with us by providing a more personal, in-store experience that showcases the many ways we enable seamless connectivity,” said Hakim Boubazine, co-president and COO of Altice USA, in a statement.
