IPTV software and set-top box developer Amino Technologies has scooped up SJ Consulting for a cool $2.3 million. SJ has developed and is licensing IP for video codes to STB suppliers and focuses on embedded systems design for advanced networked equipment that uses MPEG, ATM and wireless Ethernet. SJ's products are integrated into several single-chip MPEG-4 based STBs and those using Windows Media/VC1 specs. Amino is paying $1.4 million on completion of the bid and a total of 300,000 Amino shares will be alloted to the vendors on the first, second and third anniversaries of the deal.
