Amino did not name the customer that has agreed to the contract, but said the deployment will support a rollout of pay TV and over-the-top video services for the provider. The Live platform debuted at the IPTV World Forum in March of this year, and was launched for commercial availability in September.

This week's announcement comes almost a year to the day after Donald McGarva moved from Amino's chief operating officer job into the CEO slot with the departure of then-CEO Andrew Burke.

The Live media gateway has a Linux operating system with Amino's Aminet software stack and a controlled Android virtual machine to support a wide range of OTT applications and services. It also is the first hybrid/OTT media gateway to be powered by Intel's Atom CE 5300 media processor. This combines dual core processing power for running multiple virtual machines at high speed and new enhanced transcoding and encoding capabilities, which distribute content seamlessly to TVs, smartphones and tablets around the home.
