Amino wins first major STB deal

Amino Technologies and Intercom TV have signed a licensing agreement that allows Intercom to produce and sell Amino's MPEG2 and MPEG4 IPTV set-top boxes in Russia, Kazakhstan and the Ukraine. The five-year agreement will accelerate the development of IPTV in the region, which Amino claims has 30 million telephone subscribers. The companies said that Intercom will pay a licensing fee and royalties for Amino's IPTV technology but did not disclose financial details.
