Apple reportedly building a 'Smart TV' prototype

Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) apparently is continuing its uber alles approach by working on a Smart TV prototype "that will combine a number of features to create a totally new and unique device," Fudzilla.com reports.

With cable all atwitter over the iPad and its connection to TVs, this development could either throw a wrench into the already grinding workings or just add more to the cable connectivity pie.

The website reports that the apple TV would probably include input from an OTA or CableCARD along with DVR functionality. Of course it would also include apps and all the things Apple offers on its plethora of other devices as well as support gaming and a remote/keyboard.

The site predicted the device will arrive in time for the holidays.
