Belgacom TV to become profitable next year

Belgacom posted a strong Q1 as net profit increased 48 percent to $428.9 million and fixed-line revenue rose 0.8 percent during the period. That's right, fixed-line revenue. While revenue from voice calls dropped 3.4 percent, broadband Internet revenue increased 12 percent. Next year Belgacom's IPTV service is expected to start chipping into the fixed-line revenue coffers as well. The company currently boasts some 150,000 subscribers to the TV service.
