Boxee Box to join OTT crowd November 17

Yet another over-the-top player is headed to market. The long-anticipated Boxee Box will make its retail debut Nov. 17 through retail and online distribution.

The Boxee Box hardware can play most popular file formats from a home network, free and premium TV programs, videos, music and shows photos from the Internet. It also supports 1080p high definition and 5:1 SurroundSound.

The Box, which serves as a bridge between computer and entertainment equipment connected to a broadband pipe, will cost about $199 (with discounts).
