The cable TV industry advanced advertising initiative Canoe Ventures has been planning a rollout of limited capabilities for some time, and a report in The Wall Street Journal suggests that Canoe is still very close to doing so. However, the report also states that Canoe has encountered challenges in working with the different systems and gear operated by the six largest cable TV companies, who are Canoe's investors. The WSJ story also looks more closely at the viability of targeted advertising and cable TV advertiser and programmer interest in Canoe, as well as their potential concerns about the effort.
