Electronic appliance manufacturer Changhong and fixed-line operator China Telecom have teamed up to launch a marketing campaign for IPTV-enabled television sets in 17 cities across China. Any customer who purchases Changhong's new IPTV-enabled TV will automatically be signed up for China Telecom's IPTV service. According to the strategic agreement signed last January, the companies plan to set up 1,000 marketing sites across the country, first concentrating in the key regions of Shanghai, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shaanxi. The companies also said that they would have a full range of cooperation but did not disclose the financial breakdown of the income secured through the promotion.
