Why it's fierce: When launching a new pay TV service like IPTV, all service providers need to solve the problem of offering local stations and localized content. CloverLeaf makes that easy with its walled-garden interactive TV network. Tier 2 and Tier 3 telcos are signing on to CloverLeaf's service for its interactive community calendars and localized movie listings. IPTV needs to be more interactive than cable is--especially with the local content.

What to look for: CloverLeaf will raise more capital and continue to scoop up deals with the Tier 2s and Tier 3s.
