Cogeco to trial cable's ad-vantage

Canadian MSO Cogeco Cable will become the country's first operator to trial addressable targeted advertising early next year when it launches ads aimed at specific subscribers in cooperation with a Canadian broadcaster.

Cogeco is working with INVIDI Technologies and Channel Zero along with TV broadcaster CHCH on the trial in its cable systems in the Golden Horseshoe area of South-Central Ontario. For its part, CHCH is "thrilled to be the first Canadian broadcaster" to test addressable advertising technology, Carl Miller, president of Channel Zero said.
