Here's some news for Netflix (Nasdaq: NFLX). Frontier (NYSE: FTR) is trying to convince the folks of Sibley County, Minn. that its DSL service is as good as fiber and that the community doesn't need to build out its own FTTH project.
In a letter to locals obtained and released by DSL Reports, Frontier said "history tells us that the actual performance of most of these (municipal) projects is significantly less positive than the promises" and often "end up costing municipalities huge amounts of money."
The telco's DSL service, meanwhile, can "provide the same speed of service as their fiber can provide," the telco maintained.
