"Aslam will align and unify our product development with the major technology and business trends we're seeing in the video industry," Sam Blackman, CEO and co-founder of Elemental, said in a release. Khader has more than 25 years of experience in the interactive TV and digital rights management industries.

Before accepting the position at Elemental, Khader worked as CTO and product officer at Ensequence for more than 10 years. He also worked at Intertrust Technologies and Sequent prior to its acquisition by IBM.

"Elemental is the most innovative company in the multiscreen video processing space. I look forward to positioning our product lines for the long-term success of our customers and company stakeholders," Khader said in the release.

Elemental recently announced a deal with Australian pay-TV provider Foxtel to provide service for the company's TV Everywhere offering, Foxtel Go, which is available on iOS devices and will be released on Android later this month.

The company also worked with Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA) to promote a 4K TV at The Cable Show, providing an HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding) solution to compress Ultra HD programming for the demo.
