Interactive television provider FourthWall Media has chosen ex-Nielsen executive Bill Feininger to lead its newly created media measurement unit as Senior Vice President. He'll be in charge of advanced and interactive advertising research, according to Interactive TV Today specifically of the set-top box audience.
"Harnessing set-top box usage is to television what the introduction of the bar code was to the supermarket," said Feininger in a company release, explaining that bar codes "afforded supermarkets the knowledge to better manage their own destiny."
Feininger was VP of technical strategy and development at Nielsen Media Research, and prior to that 15-year stint worked in an engineering capacity at various hardware and software companies.
