FiOS TV expands in NY, FL, VA

Verizon's fiber-based TV service, FiOS TV has expanded into the municipalities of Newport News, Virginia and Old Field, New York. Verizon secured cable franchises in each of the areas. FiOS TV will go head-to-head with Comcast in Newport News, which is one of Virginia's largest metropolitan areas. FiOS TV will take on Cablevision Systems in the Long Island town of Old Field. Verizon now has 19 franchises in VA and 44 in NY.
