Word in the ether is that subscription-based Hulu Plus service will begin in "a matter of days" and that the iPad would be one of the primary devices that the service will target. Earlier reports suggested that the subscription Hulu service would run $10 a month and obviously provide more material than the free site.
While 10 bucks from multiple subs is not necessarily chump change, it is only the tip of a Hulu Plus iceberg that includes getting more revenues from suppliers like cable operators and satellite providers who aren't delighted with the idea of putting their content on free sites. A subscription might assuage some of their fears about losing paid subscribers to a free programming model.
