Jay Rolls jumps from Cox to Charter

Charter Communications (Nasdaq: CHTR) finally has a new chief technology officer after several months without one, and it's Jay Rolls, a long-time cable TV industry technology exec who most recently has been senior vice president of technology at Cox Communications.

Rolls, who also will carry the SVP title in addition to the CTO tag at Charter, goes way back to cable ISP [email protected] Technology-wise, Charter has been aggressive with DOCSIS 3.0 in the last few years, and more recently with TV Everywhere, though much of the recent news about the company has had to do with its ongoing reshaping after bankruptcy a couple of years ago.
