Kudelski, rebuffed, quits OpenTV bid

Kudelski Group has withdrawn its proposed bid to acquire the 63 percent or so of OpenTV that it doesn't already own, following OpenTV's rejection of the offer. However, Light Reading's Cable Digital News suggests that Kudelski, which has roughly a 77 percent voting interest in OpenTV, will still urge OpenTV to pursue a growth program that is focused on excelling in the rapidly changing set-top box market.
