According to a recent report by Screen Digest, IPTV will account for 9.4 percent of the European pay-TV market by 2009, with Spain, France and Italy achieving the highest market penetrations. The report points out that despite being the oldest IPTV player, IPTV in the UK has not seen considerable growth. Europe's estimated 658,000 IPTV subscribers are projected to increase to 8.7 million by 2009. Italian IPTV will have 20 percent of the market, IPTV in France will have 17 percent and Spain will boast 16 percent.
