MTS Allstream migrates to Mediaroom

Canadian telco TV service provider MTS Allstream last week followed through on an agreement forged almost 15 months ago with supplier partners Alcatel-Lucent and Microsoft by launching high-definition IPTV service and other features in Winnipeg. The MTS HDTV service includes personal video recording and other advances, some of which will become available as the service expands throughout this year.

MTS Allstream has been one of the major telco TV success stories in North America, obtaining about 80,000 customers by the middle of last year in Manitoba. The company announced the supply agreement with Alcatel-Lucent and Microsoft Jan. 17, 2008, and at that point appeared poised to launch the new IPTV services during last year.
