NAB: North State deploys Tandberg system

North Carolina's North State Communications is deploying the iPlex IPTV video processing headend from Tandberg Television, the vendor announced at NAB 2009 in Las Vegas. Telephony reports that companies like Tandberg and Minerva are saying they are seeing more IPTV business activity so far this year than they had expected. Headends reportedly are not as expensive as they once were, and some smaller telcos may be looking at options beyond outsourcing with one less wholesaler to choose from--SES Americom is in the process of exiting the market.
