Obama wants DTV transition delayed

President-elect Barack Obama asked Congress to delay next month's planned digital TV transition due to fears that millions of households may not be ready for it. It remains unclear how long this delay could be or if Congress will act on a delay at all.

The federal consumer DTV coupon program ran out of coupons recently, and there has been widespread criticism of Congress for allocating less than $2 billion toward the transition program.
