Real Networks launches online video downloads

Coming late to a party is oftentimes fashionable, however, Real Networks may have some explaining to do: After 2.5 years since the last major update, Real has launched a new test version of RealPlayer that includes a plug-in to download streaming video from anywhere on the Internet. The test version is Windows-only and detects video on a page, then offers the option of downloading that video to a desktop video collection. It's late, but it's free.
