Report: $1.5B market for IP video by 2012

According to a new report from ABI Research, 12 percent of online consumers say they have purchased video content delivered via the Internet. Of those, some 71 percent watch the video on their PCs, 16 percent watched it on their TVs from a burned DVD and 8 percent watched it using a gaming console. ABI claims that video game consoles will drive total revenue for public Internet video delivery because of a perfect trifecta: their proximity to the TV, the pervasiveness of online gaming and the consoles' large storage capacity.
