Research alert: Utilities like satellite communications

According to a new study by VT iDirect and the Utilities Telecom Council (UTC), the utility industry is a big proponent of satellite communications. The joint report reveals that 60 percent of utilities surveyed already use satellite services, and 22 percent are planning to add satellite communications over the next two years. The news comes despite the fact that satellite services are often perceived to be slow and latency sensitive.
