RNN melds broadcast news with online to meet new demands

The need to feed a by-the-minute consumer appetite for news is leading to some new business models and some new bedfellows. For instance, broadcasting, online video and pay television are becoming increasingly close in this formerly competitive space. Jeffrey Thompson, senior vice president and general manager of business development for RNN is right in the middle of this new era of preparing and distributing white-label news content. As he told FierceOnlineVideo editor Samantha Bookman in an interview: "You can best believe we're looking at opportunities with the growth of both digital, with what Yahoo is doing … but also in the MSO world."
