SeaChange subsidiary On Demand Group is partnering with InView Technology to roll out transactional and subscription video-on-demand services on connected TVs across Europe, the companies announced today.
On Demand Group said the service would first launch in Italy in the second quarter and continue on to other major markets across Europe during the rest of the year.
InView supplies third-generation electronic programming guides that combine a recommendation engine and a media browser to enable viewers to navigate content from linear TV and the Internet to customers in the United Kingdom. Its NEELiX platform works within existing processor and memory constraints of any product with no additional cost at the point of manufacture, enabling full IP connectivity on even the most basic set top boxes and TVs.
On Demand Group's VOD services will provide viewers access to the latest movies available on a transactional basis, and a library of on-demand TV content on a subscription basis, including popular TV series, children's programming, classic movies, and the latest music videos.
