The DSL forum has released new specs for the management of set top boxes in the home. TR-135 describes STB capabilities such as PVR, IGMP and quality of service. It also facilitates video service performance monitoring.
TR-135 seeks to standardize STB parameters for trouble management and collection of statistics for Quality of Service (QoS)/Quality of Experience (QoE) monitoring. The specification enables remote monitoring for service and trouble shooting as well as enabling the monitoring of STB usage to enable manufacturers to tailored boxes to customer's needs. Report
