According to a report in The Wall Street Journal, Time Warner's cable unit plans to offer its customers a means of upgrading their services faster. OpenTV is providing the software to up to 4 million cable set-top boxes, which will allow subscribers to load a wide range of applications developed by third parties for set-top boxes.
