Survey: FiOS TV tops in customer satisfaction

Results of another customer satisfaction survey have been announced, and it looks like another win for telco TV--specifically Verizon FiOS TV--over traditional cable TV offerings. Strategy Analytics surveyed 842 consumers and evaluated seven TV service providers, including AT&T, Verizon, Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications, DirecTV and Dish Network.

Telcos TV providers as a group registered high in customer loyalty. Specifically, among Verizon FiOS TV customers, 89 percent were "somewhat" or "very" satisfied with their service, and only 1 percent said they were "somewhat" or "very" dissatisfied. About 80% of AT&T U-verse TV, Dish and DirecTV customers were "somewhat" or "very" satisfied, while the cable TV customers trailed those ratings.

The survey findings seem to back up the recent evidence supplied in the fourth-quarter earnings reports of these providers, as telcos continued to show strong subscriber gains for their TV services, and cable TV firms such as Comcast admitted to competitive pressure form telcos.
