This Technology expands digital ad insertion flexibility

CHICAGO - Following what is sure to be a tradeshow-wide theme of a converged yet diverse cable video offering package, This Technology said it has expanded its suite of MetaWare products to deliver digital ad insertion across VoD, TV Everywhere, the still-existent nVoD and IPTV delivery platforms.

The new metadata suite builds on This Technology's base VoD digital ad insertion technology to offer programmers and service providers the flexibility to author and distribute content across multiple viewing platforms, Jeffrey Sherwin, the company's CEO, told FierceCable.

"If we're going to put into place a platform that allows advertising operations to make dynamic ad decisions ... they want an infrastructure that isn't siloed only to VoD, they want to make that same operation work across multiple platforms: VoD, broadband video, IPTV, mobile, TV Everywhere," he said. "The information for making an advertising decision is technically the same; the question is how the business wants to segment it."
