Time Warner Cable's Cerbone: 'Wi-Fi is our network'

Rob Cerbone, Time Warner CableAs consumers continue to untether themselves from their wired home networks, cable operators are scrambling to make sure they remain relevant in their customers' lives by activating Wi-Fi hotspots and expanding their wireless networks with other providers. Time Warner Cable's Vice President of Wireless Products Rob Cerbone told FierceWireless the company is ramping up the deployment of Wi-Fi hotspots throughout its service territory with an emphasis on areas where Time Warner Cable is upgrading its broadband networks, including New York City and Los Angeles. TWC currently has some 33,000 hotspots, with more than 3,000 being deployed in the latest quarter. Read the interview here.
