TV Everywhere: Bouygues Telecom works with Intel, Jinni

French telecom and IPTV service provider Bouygues Telecom has expanded its portfolio via separate collaborations with Intel and Jinni.

The technology collaboration with Intel is expected to bring live and on-demand TV to Intel-based devices fed by any broadband connection. The content includes live TV and VOD for Bouygues Telecom customers who are part of the company's Bbox service.

The new technology leverages the Bbox Sensation platform that includes an Intel Atom media processor, said Yves Caseau, Bouygues' senior vice president, technologies, in a story reported by The Financial.

"Through a simple, fast and intuitive interface, Bouygues Telecom customers gained access to a complete range of services including live and catch-up TV, VOD, cloud gaming and a media center," Caseau said. "Through this collaboration, we are eager to expand IPTV services to Ultrabook and other Intel-based devices."

Additionally, the French Telecom said it has agreed to license Jinni's content discovery solution, giving subscribers access to technology that allows them to browse by mood and take advantage of other intuitive discovery features. The service will be offered in French but will include discovery of both international and local French TV series and movies.

"France is in a prolific period of innovation and introducing revolutionary new products in TV consumption and content recommendation. Bouygues Telecom is a cutting edge telco provider that proactively looks to offer consumers the most compelling entertainment experience," said Yosi Glick, Jinni's CEO, in a Broadband TV News story. "This is a natural partnership between two companies at the forefront of TV experience innovation."

Also on the Jinni front, the content discovery solutions provider said it signed licensing agreements with Time Warner Cable (NYSE: TWC) and Vudu, along with international customers like Nordic pay TV provider C More Entertainment, Spain's Prisa, Asian operator SingTel and South Africa's Multichoice.
