ZyXEL joins TelcoTV panel looking at home networking solutions for IPTV deployment

Networking specialist ZyXEL Communications will be part of a panel at TelcoTV next week in Las Vegas looking at home gateway solutions for telecoms looking to deploy IPTV products.

A home gateway can serve as the repository for digital media and single entry point for distributing IP video, from many sources to many devices. Thompson will highlight the numerous business benefits home gateways offer providers, outlining the ability to remotely troubleshoot technical issues, which can both increase customer satisfaction and reduce costly service calls. The panelists will also discuss the latest home gateway options, progress and common approaches to solve today's networking issues and take advantage of the growing demand for IPTV.

The session, with ZyXEL product manager David Thompson, William Uliasz, director of home network architecture and design, Verizon; and Duncan Bees, chief technology and business officer, Home Gateway Initiative, is set for 1:45 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 9, at the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino.
