Android Market for Google TV due 'soon'

OTTCon, San Jose, Calif.-- Google has been hinting that it will be rolling out an Android Market app store for Google TV since before the sluggish-selling smart TV platform hit the market last fall. And, for those of you who are still waiting with bated breath for it to arrive, well, you won't have to wait too much longer.

During an executive panel on OTT and the Future of TV at the week's OTTCon, Kevin Simon, Director, Product Management at Logitech let slip that an Android Market would be making its way to Google TV soon.

How soon? "Very soon," he said, certainly before the end of the year. Google TV owners, wherever they are, are rejoicing.
