AOL Canada launches AOL On

AOL On is on in Canada, the Web pioneer announced in a press release.

AOL Canada described the service as "a premium curated video platform across all screens--desktop, tablet, mobile, mobile apps and connected TVs"--and said it would serve as AOL's home page for video delivery in Canada.

"The launch of AOL On Canada comes at an incredible time for online digital media," Rashida Jeeva, general manager of AOL Canada, said in the press release. "[W]ith increasing demand of online video from advertisers and with consumers accessing online video at a rising rate this new product only furthers our commitment to the online video experience."

The company said it will use a video hub housing more than 500,000 videos, including Canada-specific video content, as the foundation of an AOL On Video Network that has 169 million video streams a month that reach 7.8 million monthly unique viewers.

AOL Canada said American Express Canada will be the official advertising launch partner of AOL On.

"Given the cross platform nature of the American Express campaign the partnership was a great fit to reach consumers where they are consuming content across all screens," AOL Canada said in the press release.
