blinkx partners with WWF in Copenhagen Climate Summit video coverage

Video search engine blinkx is taking an interesting path to drive traffic to its service, partnering with the WWF's COP15 to offer coverage of the Copenhagen Climate Summit from Dec. 7-19 in Copenhagen. blinkx also will be placing relevant advertising with the videos, using its AdHoc platform.

What makes advertising relevant to the climate? Um, tough call. So far, cold meds and ABC network trailers seem to be the norm.

Regardless, the WWF will offer more than an hour of footage on the climate summit with a video blog, Inside COP15. Check out "The Bigger Picture" here.

More than 190 nations are attending the Copenhagen Climate Summit, which is focusing on global warming and fossil fuels. The climate conference kicked off today, with the United Nations' top climate control official telling attendees the bid to strike a political deal on curbing emissions and providing finance to support poor countries in the fight against climate change would only succeed if they deliver ''significant and immediate action'' on global warming.

Some 110 heads of state and government are expected to attend the final days of the two-week conference, with President Barack Obama planning to attend as well.
