Brightcove teams with Carahsoft to pursue contracts with government agencies

Online video platform Brightcove says it's partnering with IT solutions provider Carahsoft Technology to launch a new government sector initiative.

Carahsoft will market and sell the OVP, which already is used by the Department of State, to federal, state and local governments. Carahsoft is a specialist at streamlining government contracts and orders, and already works with tech companies including Adobe, Akamai, HP, SAP, Symantec and VMware. Brightcove also has named Chris Hill to director of public sector sales. Hill joins Brightcove from Adobe and will manage key strategic partnerships and sales activity across the public sector. Together, these moves will help accelerate Brightcove's growth in the government sector.

"Agencies and departments at every level of government are making online video a central part of their communication strategies," said David Mendels, Brightcove president and CEO.
