Chunghwa Telecom, Broadpeak trial 4K HEVC delivery

Broadpeak is working with Taiwan's Chunghwa Telecom on a 4K trial, with the aim of delivering streaming content using HEVC compression. "We chose Broadpeak as our server and CDN manager solutions provider based on their extensive expertise in video delivery, innovative approach to technology in terms of supporting next-generation formats and standards like 4K and HEVC, and flexibility, which enables a quick deployment," said JH Lin, deputy director, Multimedia Division, Chunghwa Telecom. The carrier will also use HwaCom set-top boxes in the trial.
