Elemental shows off real-time 4K HEVC encoding

Elemental Technologies is touting its ability to process 4K video using advanced codecs in real time. The company demonstrated the system in London this week, showing off real-time processing of 4K video at 60 frames per second at a constant bitrate of 14 Mbps using HEVC. Major media broadcasters and pay-TV operators in the UK were set to kick the tires on the product Wednesday, Keith Wymbs, Elemental's vice president of marketing said. Elemental showed off a similar demonstration earlier this year at half the frame rate, but customers wanted to see more, he said. Read more
