Fliqz service optimizes videos for search results

Want to ensure that you make the first page of a Google search? What would making the number one spot be worth to your company?

Increasingly, if you have video on your website, you’re more likely to be successful than if you don’t, says research firm Forrester. In fact, the company says, on the keywords for which Google offers video results, any given video in the index stands about a 50 times better chance of appearing on the first page of results than any given text page in the index.

“It’s pretty obvious to us that Google is placing a priority on indexing video,” Benjamin Wayne, CEO of Fliqz, a plug-and-play online video platform, told FierceOnlineVideo.  “People spend tens of thousands of dollars on SEO. We think that we can get them first-page results, and even number one rankings, in a much more cost effective way.”

Fliqz’s launched a new product designed to help marketers get those top rankings while also helping them to better establish their brand in the marketplace. SearchSuccess is a set of tools that simplifies SEO. It's available as an add-on to Fliqz’s top-of-the-line Gold Edition hosting solution; the Gold Edition includes a custom video player that allows users to brand their video content, up to 1,500 uploads a month, and sharing, reposting and linking capabilities for viral growth. Wayne says combining that with SearchSuccess will help publishers maximize SEO efforts.

Wayne said beta testing with roughly a dozen companies has been enormously successful, with more than two-thirds of the videos submitted returning a first-page Google result; nearly 25 percent have returned a number one Google ranking.

“When publishers consider their marketing spend, they have to ask themselves, ‘what is my video investment really returning to me?’ ” said Wayne. “What’s a first-page, or number one ranking worth to a company? How much would you have to spend to get a text ranking that high?”

SearchSuccess, Wayne said, addresses a number of flaws that are common to video SEO.

"Many publishers are mistakenly under the impression that submitting videos to YouTube will drive traffic back to their site, or are working with video platform providers whose search engine submission techniques are either ineffective or drive traffic to the platform provider rather than the publisher,” he said. “SearchSuccess is the first product to ensure search ranking while guaranteeing traffic is directed to the publisher's site."

SearchSuccess costs $250 a month, and can be added on to Fliqz’s Gold Edition, which costs an additional $499 a month.
