FierceCable teamed with research firm IHS to explore offerings by several set-top, gateway and IP delivery vendors, including their features and foibles. From traditional delivery to IP-based streaming, a number of competitors are rising to improve or even replace the boxes, such as Harmonic and Microsoft, with multiscreen solutions and more efficient video processing and delivery.
