Hulu on BlackBerry's PlayBook? Um, no

Looks like there's no joy for BlackBerry PlayBook tablet owners who were hoping to use the device to stream online videos from Hulu, the device, released this week, already has been blocked from the video distribution site.

It really shouldn't come as a surprise, Hulu blocked video on the Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad initially as well, rolling out its Hulu Plus app later. That service charges users $7.99 a month for access to content.

The Montreal Gazette says early sales of the tablet have been brisk, with one day sales estimated at 50,000, stronger than Motorola's Xoom or Samsung's Galaxy Tab, said RBC Capital Markets analyst Mike Abramsky. He said the company should ship some 500,000 tablets in the first quarter of fiscal 2012.
