Kyte rolls out simultaneous live video streaming for iPad, iPhone, web

Video platform Kyte is giving publishers the ability to simultaneously broadcast live or on-demand streaming video to any Apple iOS device, including iPhones, iPads, and Kyte's live video streaming to Apple iOS devices, the webthe iPod touch, as well as to the web.

The upgraded Kyte iOS Application Framework and SDK allow customers to quickly deliver native iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch apps that feature live streaming video and audio. Live streaming is also supported for HTML5-based web browsing on iOS devices.

Kyte said HTML5 ads can be served by third party ad platforms, allowing publishers to monetize iPhone and iPad audiences with pre- and post-roll video advertising.

"Publishers on the Kyte Platform can now easily broadcast high quality live video to web, iPhone and iPad audiences simultaneously," said Gannon Hall, COO at Kyte. "In addition, our expanded social features and HTML5 advertising options provide new opportunities for reaching and monetizing rapidly growing mobile audiences."

Kyte in August launched a BlackBerry app that allows users to record, upload and distribute video content from their BlackBerry devices in real time, continuing a trend that has made it easier for media outlets and brands to share near-real-time events with an audience in an easy and cost-effective way. Mobile Producer for BlackBerry followed on the heels of the OVP's mobile producers for iPhone and Nokia S60.
