Staying connected and getting an expanded experience is becoming a must-have for sports and music fans attending stadium or arena events. Two technologies, LTE Multicast and Wi-Fi Multicast, are making it much easier for venues to deliver live multimedia to concentrated groups of smartphone and tablet users. While Wi-Fi Multicast is already being deployed at many arenas (such as through Cisco's StadiumVision Mobile platform), LTE Multicast is in the planning stages, with CTOs saying the technologies are complementary.
