Mitú, a Latino-focused company that got its start as a multichannel network (MCN) on YouTube, raised $27 million in its latest Series C funding round, bringing its total funding to $43 million.

The round was led by three strategic investors: AwesomenessTV, Verizon (NYSE: VZ) and WPP Digital, with existing investors like Upfront Ventures also participating, Variety reports.

Mitú plans to continue expanding its owned-and-operated content publishing platform and increase its investment in content production, product, technologies and sales. It's also on track to launch a new marketing platform for influencers, mituberos.com, and expand its app ecosystem. Variety article
