MLB Advanced Media to stream live concert

MLB Advanced Media, the new-media arm of Major League Baseball, will distribute a live stream online of an upcoming concert. Coming from a long-standing leader in distributing live sports events online, the agreement to distribute the Global Citizens Festival represents MLB Advanced Media's latest push into offering its services to third parties.

"We want to gain experience selling worldwide rights," Bob Bowman, MLB Advanced Media's CEO, told the New York Times. "This is the first time we have purchased worldwide rights for TV... and digital."

A fundraiser for the Global Poverty Project, the concert in New York's Central Park is set to be produced by MLB Advanced Media and AEG and will feature performances by Stevie Wonder and others.
