Netflix's (Nasdaq: NFLX) Open Connect partner RCN delivers the best Netflix "experience" of any ISP in the Boston region, Netflix said this week.

The ranking could give RCN more marketing fodder as it attempts to lure the back-to-school crowd to its broadband service this fall. RCN already promotes its partnership with Netflix on its website.
"This is useful information for consumers when picking an ISP, especially for those thousands of university students who are moving to Boston before school begins," Greg Peters, Netflix's chief streaming and partnership officer, wrote on the company's blog.
Netflix users who subscribe to RCN logged an average speed of 2.42 Mbps--that's just higher than the U.S. average of 2.40, Netflix reports on its site ispspeedindex.netflix.com. Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA), the largest cable operator in the region, delivered average Netflix speeds of 2.13 Mbps, according to Netflix's rankings.
