Score a big win for Brightcove, the Cambridge, Mass.-based online video platform that announced today it would be the player of choice for Turner Broadcasting in the U.K., Spain, France, Italy, Germany and other European countries.

"We look forward to expanding our partnership with Turner Broadcasting as the organization introduces new online video initiatives in the future."
Turner says Brightcove's platform will help it to expand its advertising-supported online video offerings and to introduce a variety of new enhanced online video programming across its Web portals. Brightcove's platform will give Turner a higher-quality online product with more flexibility and advanced customization that will allow it to develop new revenue streams via online advertising and to enlarge its audience. The first sites to launch include Cartoon Network, Boomerang and Adult Swim.
Brightcove's platform will also allow Turner to extend its reach through third party distribution and social sharing capabilities. Turner Broadcasting is also utilizing Brightcove to introduce localized video experiences on Cartoon Network in Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, The Netherlands, Romania Spain and Sweden.
